A series of three documentaries reconstructs the successful World Cup of the Belgian national football team in Mexico in 1986.

At the World Cup football in Mexico in 1986 Belgium surprised the world with a great fourth place. For a while, Belgium seemed to be too small. No one will ever forget the heroic deeds of Red Devils such as Jan Ceulemans, Jean-Marie Pfaff, Georges Grün, Enzo Scifo and Erik Gerets. In 2006, twenty years later, the heroes look back at one of the most memorable moments in Belgian sports history.

The three-episode documentary is a truly heroic story. The epic battle against the mighty Soviet Union, the exciting and dramatic penalty shoot-out against Spain and the overwhelming homecoming parade in Brussels. Moments no Belgian will ever get enough of are completed with previously unreleased material.

The Red Devils themselves and their foreign opponents express their views in new and exclusive interviews.

Mexico 86, the Red Devils’ World Cup was broadcast in December 2006 on Canvas. The three documentaries are available in one DVD box.
