The Great Crossing
The Great Crossing is nominated for the Golden Rose in Luzern 2008.
During one week two Flemish villages participated in a large-scale social experiment. The women of Lafelt in Limburg went to live with the women of Rosmeer. In the same week the men of Rosmeer lived with the men of Lafelt. Flanders had, for one week, a men’s village and a women’s village in the beautiful south of Limburg.
For one week the men and women had to look after themselves. With this experiment The Great Crossing (De Grote Oversteek) wants to verify whether they can smoothly take over each other’s places and tasks.
In The Great Crossing presenter and observer Chris Dusauchoit will guide them with great skill through all evolutions and developments in both villages. Exciting and socially relevant stories about how men and women take over each other’s tasks at home, work or in social life. How approaches differ concerning kids, cooking or decision making. This makes The Great Crossing a fascinating battle of the sexes bursting with humour, suspense and emotion.
