Highlights season 3
Highlights this season at ZOO Antwerp were the grand opening of the second biggest reef aquarium in Europe, the training of the hippos, the arrival of gorilla Kiki and the spectacular make-over of the old marsupials building where koalas were housed for the first time. At Planckendael, everybody was looking forward to the birth of two baby elephants and the opening of the new walkthrough habitat of the prosimians could count on great enthousiasm from the visitors.
The Zoo, Behind the Scenes was broadcast March-June 2015 on Eén.
The fourth season
The fourth season of The Zoo, Behind the Scenes contains countless unique moments: an important egg for the King Penguins, the tragic death of Siberian Tiger Yessie and the birth of baby elephant Qiyo. Qiyo, Kai-Mook’s little sister, is one of the stars of this season. The audience will get to see exclusive footage from mum Phyo Phyo’s delivery.
The Zoo, Behind the Scenes will bring the animals even closer to the audience. Special cameras were used in order to get even closer to the animals, without disturbing them. These cameras are water and lickproof and yield some surprising footage.
The Zoo, Behind the Scenes is a production from De Mensen in cooperation with the Koninklijke Maatschappij voor Dierkunde in Antwerp. The fourth season of The Zoo, Behind the Scenes was broadcast on Eén from in 2016.
